Print To Tray

The WordTricks Print-To-Tray feature allows for a quick, simple way to print an entire document to a specific printer tray.

Using Print-To-Tray

Locate and click thePrint-To-Tray button on the WordTricks button bar or press SHIFT + CTRL + P.

This displays a Pop-Down Menu something like this:

Note: The Pop-Down menu changes the list of trays with the printer selected.

Click on the desired tray to print the document.

Draft/Final Bin Selection

ThePrint-To-Tray feature will automatically use the tray selections from the Draft/Final feature.

If these bins have been selected, the Print-To-Tray pop-down will look something like this:

PrintToTray

Note the three new selections at the top. The "Draft Tray" selection will print to the tray designated as "Draft" from the Draft/Final personal options, for the current printer. Similarly, the "Final Tray" selection will print to the designated tray for "Final."

The selection for "Letter Final Trays" alters the document so that the first page prints to the Letter "Final(Pg1)" tray and subsequent pages print to the Letter "Final(Pg2+)" tray.

To set up these trays, start the Draft/Final feature and click the Personal Options button.

Draft

Options

By default, the option for Select and Print is checked. This means that upon clicking the tray selection from the Pop-Down, the document is set to that tray and is then queued to print.

If it is preferable, you may use the Print-To-Tray feature to change the selected tray for the document, but not print it. Choose the Select Tray Only option to do this. This way the document can be set to any desired tray, then specific pages (or the whole document) can be printed to that tray at a later time.

Printer Tray Administration

Print-To-Tray uses the Word Page Setup feature accessible via Word's menu File > Page Setup > Paper tab.

In order for this Word feature to work correctly (and thus Print-To-Tray), your printer must be configured with the correct information about its available bins.

In addition, the Windows NT Forms feature (if set other than to factory defaults) will override the Word Paper feature and cause the Print-To-Tray feature to fail.

Please check with your systems administrator for assistance with these issues.
