Bates Stamp Labels
The Bates Stamp feature creates Avery 5160, 5161, 5162, 5163, 5164, 5165 and 5167 labels for exhibits or other sequentially numbered items.
Note: Numbers may be generated horizontally or vertically.
From within a blank document:

Click the Litigation Icon![]()

on the WordTricks toolbar.

The Litigation options are listed below:

Click the Bates![]()

button or use SHIFT + ALT + J.
The Bates Labels dialog box will appear:

Set Numbers
Type the beginning and ending numbers desired and select the number of digits.
Note that the number of pages is calculated automatically.
But if desired, the number of pages can be set. If so, the ending number will
be calculated automatically.
Options
Generate
Click the OK![]()
![]()
button to generate label sheets.
Print
Print the Avery labels, or save the document to print at a later time.
Printing on Existing Documents
On occasion, it is useful to print "Bates" numbers on each page of documents that are already printed. To do so, follow these steps:
Select Sheet Labels
Select Avery 5165 full sheet labels.
Set Alignment
Set the vertical and horizontal position to the appropriate corner of the page. (Usually the bottom right.)
Set Numbers
Set the beginning and ending numbers based on the number of pages to stamp.
Generate
Click the OK![]()
![]()
button to generate label sheets.
Print
Load the printer with the documents to be stamped, and print.
Be sure to correctly sequence the documents.
